Sybil Carroll has been helping dogs and their people connect for over twenty years. A lifetime equestrian and instructor, Sybil often incorporates training strategies from the horse world to bring balance, structure, and joy to her canine clients. Her passion for effective positive training methods began with a boxer named Capone. This wonderful dog challenged and inspired her to seek out non-traditional training methods that they both could relate to and thrive. As a result, her classes balance fun and games with control and attention in a way that both dog and handler find reinforcing. Capone has since passed, and while he leaves behind many ribbons and great memories of a successful agility and obedience career, he is mostly remembered with much love as a beloved friend and constant companion. Capone also paved the way for (now retired) agility teammate Corgi Flex, who successfully competed AKC and USDAA for many years. Newest family member Border Collie Switch continues to inspire her to learn and grow as a trainer and teammate and is currently training and competing in agility, herding, nose work, and obedience. When not competing or hanging out at home with the family, the dogs have been seen “acting” in shows like Bravo’s Project Runway, strutting their stuff on the runways of New York’s fashion week, and have worked with nationwide campaigns such as Target, Neiman Marcus, Whole Meals, and PetSmart. Sybil enjoys working with clients because there are so many opportunities to be creative and to set dogs and their families up for success. As an instructor, she is an expert in everything from pet obedience to high level sport and agility training. She is also a perpetual student and constantly looks for the best methods to accompany her own innovations. In her “spare time,” Sybil manages two successful businesses: On Target Agility and Events and Fairy Tails dog training and pet sitting.
